This is the Thai Visa for Vietnamese, so see what you need to know. If you are from Vietnam then please note that that Thai Embassy in in Phnom Penh and also the Thai Embassy in Laos and the Thai Embassy in Savannakhet will no longer issue a visa for you. You need to apply for a Thai visa at the Thai Embassy in Vietnam. These rules are still in effect (June 2014).
Thai Visa for Vietnamese
Also note that the visa on arrival for Vietnamese has changed. You are now only allowed to enter Thailand 4 times with your visa on arrival before they will stop you and ask for a proper visa. Thai Tourist Visa
This type of visa is issued solely for tourism purposes, and employment is strictly prohibited. In order to apply, the following conditions and requirements must be met:
To begin with, the Tourist Visa is valid for three months from the date of issuance. Travelers are required to enter the country within this period. Moreover, travelers are allowed to stay up to 60 days, counting from the date of entry. It is possible to extend the stay for another 30 days, with a maximum stay of 90 days, counting from the date of entry. However, travelers should note that visa extension is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer. If the entry conditions are breached. As an example by engaging in work-related activities, the stay permit will be revoked. Also the visa holder will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.
Documents Needed
To apply for the Tourist Visa, the following documents are required: a passport or travel document with validity not less than six months, a completed Visa application form, one recent photograph affixed to the visa application form, evidence of transportation, and proof of accommodation. The requirements for proof of accommodation vary depending on the applicant’s situation, whether staying at a hotel, rented accommodation, or with friends or family members.
In addition, applicants are required to provide evidence of adequate finance. This can be shown through a bank statement in the past six months, demonstrating a minimum fund of THB 20,000 per person or THB 40,000 per family. Additional requirements may apply for certain countries, including National of certain countries who are required to apply for a visa in person only at the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General at their home or country of residence.
Applicants must also pay a non-refundable visa fee of USD 40.00, payable in US Dollars and by cash only. Visa processing typically takes 1-3 working days for a complete application.
